Campbell and her parents (and her brother!) have made it through the first quarter of her first year! Woohoo! Four months doesn’t really seem like that much in real life, but in baby life it is huge. I can’t believe how much Campbell has already changed. I am really trying to savor each moment, and yet she keeps growing up before my eyes. I started crying the other day (hello hormones!) because I saw a picture of a mom holding her newborn in my textbook and I couldn’t believe we were already past that stage! Without further ado, here is what Campbell is up to these days:
- Weight: 14 lbs 2 ounces (75th percentile)
- Length: 25.5 inches (90th percentile)
- Campbell has recently become very good at grabbing objects. She usually tries to put them in her mouth, but is not always successful. She rarely becomes overstimulated by her toy bar because she now has a job to do!
- The other day I had her in her crib watching her mobile and I heard a loud clicking sound. I went in and she had grabbed one of the toys as it was circling around and was holding on with all her might so that the mobile could no longer run. Pretty funny.
- Campbell is really in love with her feet! She loves grabbing them and putting her toes into her mouth!
- She has gotten great head control lately. She can lift her neck up while she is on her tummy (though honestly we have not been great about tummy time lately), she can sit comfortably in her bumbo, and we can even hold her upright on our hip now (though she is still a little floppy in that position). At her check up, Dr. M put her on her tummy and she rolled right over. Such a show-off already!
- Campbell is still exclusively breastfeeding and I am a little nervous already for the day I have to wean her. She has made it very clear that she does NOT like to have bottles. When I give her a bottle, she will usually drink the first ounce or two quickly but then starts crying and refuses to drink anymore. But I know she is still hungry because she will happily nurse at that point and probably drinks another 2-3 ounces.
- Campbell is doing a great job of sleeping through the night. She most often wakes up between 7 and 8, often closer to 8! But occasionally she will wake up at 6:30/6:45. We usually just let her cry and she never cries for more than 5 minutes and then wakes up again in an hour.
- Sam and Campbell are now sharing a room!! It is going pretty well so far, and I will do another blog post soon with all the details
- Campbell is the smiliest little baby I have ever seen. It is 100% guaranteed that if you give her a big toothy grin, she will smile back at you–even if she is crying! Sam loves getting her to smile, though he rarely has the patience to get her eye contact. Campbell is not much of a crier. She usually goes down for her naps without tears and almost always wakes up in a great mood. She didn’t even cry for one of her shots this time (but the second one got her!).
Campbell is such a fun little baby and we are really loving having her in our family. We love you bunches Campbell!!
Besides being the cutest, she also has the best hats!
Her daddy used to put his feet in his mouth, too. Literally, that is — not metaphorically! Such a cute post!
cannot wait to see them both–hot hats and cute smiles all!
What an adorable posting! Precious pictures!
BEAUTIFUL pictures!! What a funny little girl…I miss those kids so much!
